PHOTOGRAPHING A WEDDING IS A RESPONSIBILITY, A PRIVILEGE AND A GREAT PLEASURE
I
start with the principle that to be asked to photograph a wedding is a
responsibility, which because of its uniqueness has to be carefully
planned with the bride and groom to ensure their needs are discussed
and fully understood. This is to make certain the day runs smoothly and
nothing is forgotten.
It
is also a privilege to be part of the day as it develops with the bride
as she starts her bridal transformation in the hairdresser, to the
ceremony and reception, right through to a photographic conclusion with
the ‘first dance’ as husband and wife.
Finally
it is a great pleasure to share in the emotion of the day, and to tell
in pictures the story of a memorable occasion. By the end of the
wedding it is not unusual to end up with at least 400 pictures, very
often many more.
